Who's behind FocusFuture?

Rachel Manetsch

Co-Founder & Community

Rachel loves bringing people together. She is equally interested in the development of new thinking processes and structures. As a Creative Director, Rachel has been developing marketing concepts, digital and hybrid teaching formats, training sessions, workshops, and lectures for many years. She not only works behind the scenes but also leads as a facilitator through interactive formats. Emotions and fun are important aspects in her work as they positively influence the learning and thinking process. She draws inspiration and ideas from her time as an improvisational actress and journalist. With FocusFuture, she hopes to encourage people to find fulfilment in their later years, as this has been proven to have a positive impact on mental and physical health. In addition to her master’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, and History from the University of Zurich, Rachel has completed the module “Strategic Design Thinking for Everyday” at the Open HPI Academy of the University of Potsdam and the Life Design module at the University of St. Gallen.

Elisabeth Gehrig Zahnd

Community-Manager

Elisabeth is an experienced communicator. She was, among other roles, an Internal Communication Manager at Zurich Insurance. Through her years of freelance work as a (virtual) Personal Assistant, Elisabeth is intimately familiar with the hybrid work model.
She has a passion for languages (currently learning Japanese) and enjoys traveling to distant lands. Elisabeth lived in California for 5 years, where she studied English. That period significantly influenced her as a person and shaped her entire life.

Elisabeth has now entered the third quarter of her life and is delighted to support FocusFuture with her experience.

Beda Binder

Co-Founder & Technology

For quite some time, Beda has been exploring various forms of agile learning and the creation of hybrid communities of interest. He is particularly interested in developing intuitive, user-friendly, and user-centered interfaces and systems that appeal to people of all ages. Beda is convinced that regular peer group exchange, mutual reflection of intentions, and support – in conjunction with learning content – achieve the best and most sustainable learning outcomes. As an engineer, graphic designer, and creative thinker, Beda operates at the intersection of development, programming, and content.

For him FocusFuture is an exciting venture, among other reasons, because companies can actively support their employees in preparing for the later years of their careers and for retirement through “Corporate Generation Inclusion.”

Curdin Decasper

Co-Founder & Operations

Thanks to his structured and grounded approach, Curdin is ideally suited to ensure and optimize the operations of FocusFuture. From a young age, Curdin acquired didactic skills as a snowboard instructor, skills he continues to employ to inspire people for new experiences. Curdin works in the live marketing industry and is well-versed in juggling finances, personnel, planning, and course management. Because of his broad interests, Curdin has developed a taste for discovering and initiating new ideas. He often employs the agile method of “prototyping,” which can be applied in almost all areas of life. Curdin particularly likes the FocusFuture community, where regular exchange takes place. That’s how FocusFuture can make a significant contribution against loneliness in old age.
